Beckett and Douglas were original members of the Society of St Augustine. Beckett is reputed to have been a very keen gardener and planted many trees on the mission.

Four members of Mothaka oa Bahlanka ba Krestu (The Community of the Servants of Christ).
The order was founded in 1928 for Basotho men who wished to live a vocation in a religious community. Fr Patrick Maekane (d. 1985), the community's first postulant, is in this photograph.
The MBK lived and worked from Modderpoort and were active missionaries. While there was a vision for incorporating members of the MBK into the SSM, they remained segregated
